They are so expensive. How can I tell which brand is better than others?

my son dylan not only does he need glasses but he now needs a hearing aid in his rlght ear will the hearing aid work in his ear

I am now 30 years old and I am wearing hearing aids since my 8 years old. Although I am used to them, I have never found anyone else with the same issue in my direct environment.
I have often issues of tinnitus (sounds in ear), balance issues, speaking problems…
And this is affecting my image at work. I have tried to communicate this to my bosses, in any way possible, and they just don’t seem to get it.
Is there anyone that can relate to this and give me some advice. I am working in a highly-competitive IT department and sometimes, I just can’t handle it anymore. I just don’t seem to be able to explain it to anyone and find myself alone again…
I have my wife and 2 children and my job is the only income for the family, so therefore my sincere call for help.
