This has to be the nerdiest case of potential hearing loss ever, but: I got a new MP3 player and spent the entire MLK weekend listening to audiobooks. Maybe eight hours a day or more. Typically the volume was less than half way to maximum. However, today my ears feel like they are full of water and speech sounds muffled. Could I really have damaged my hearing in such a short time?
I was using a Palm Pixi and generic earbuds if that helps.

We purchased hearing aids and found from another tester that we need to see a medical doctor first. We were told from the seller that we could return within 21 days, but when reading the contract we see a 10% restocking fee and that we waived that we should see a doctor first. Of course, we didn’t read the fine print. This was 24 hours ago.

BTW I heard that a mutated (and more fierce) HIV species had been discovered and was spreading like wild fire, true?
