i have found gearing aid supplies online like ampli ear and MagniEar Plus and was wondering if anyone knows where to buy cheaper hearing devices like these in calgary alberta canada

You don’t say but is this device for your 79 year old mother? If this is the case you should probably look into the Alberta Health Services. If your mother is eligible she may be supplied with a hearing aid at no cost to her. Here is the Eligibility Criteria
You may be eligible for benefits through Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) if you:
are an Alberta resident,
have a valid Alberta Personal Health Card, and
require assistance because of a long-term disability, chronic illness or terminal illness. Long-term and chronic are defined as being six months or longercost.
